1. Letters on Keyboard .!  (Basics of keyboard)

Keyboard consists of  8 whites keys and 5 black keys in an octave .

White keys starts from  C , D , E , F, G, A, B and C . Black Keys Starts from C# , D# , F# , G# and A# .

where #  -- >  indicates increase in semitone .

The given Black key is also names as 

 C#   <--> Db

 D#   <--> Eb

 F#   <--> Gb

 G#   <--> Ab

 A#    <-->Bb


Note : The concept of naming a single key different name is called as Enharmonic Equivalent .

2. Tone and Semitone

Semitone is otherwise called as Half step . The nearest key to a key is called as Semitone. Example : Consider E , the nearest note to E is F , Hence it is a semitone . In other words , F can also be name as E# (i.e .Enharmonic of F is E# )  .

Tone is otherwise called as Whole Step . If 2 semitones are there between 2 notes , then it is called as Tone . Example Consider E , E -> F is a semitone : and : F-> F# is a semitone hence , E to F# is a Tone.

3. Naming Notes On Stave 

We Know that , Treble Clef means to play in Right hand and Bass Clef Means to Play in Left hand .

How to identify the notes on Stave .? 

Step 1 . To Identify the notes we need to know the sign of Clef at first look (Treble clef or bass clef ) 

Step 2 . Know where the note head stand . (On the stave or on the space )

Step 3 . Now Read the note .
